01 — Overview

The context

Air cargo moves through many hands: airlines, airport handlers, warehouses, customs and trucking companies. Each one usually works in its own system, so the full picture of a shipment only exists in phone calls, spreadsheets and email threads.

Enfenza is a complete air logistics platform for cargo operators. It brings the flight network, airport ground operations, warehouses, air waybills and ground transport into one real-time product, with a navigable 3D digital twin of each hub.

02 — Problem

Operators were running a live network with fragmented tools.

Delays, dock congestion and cold-chain risks were discovered late, after they had already spread to other flights. The information existed, but it was scattered across systems that didn’t talk to each other, and no one could see the network, the airport and the shipment at the same time.

03 — Research

What we learned

1

Exceptions first

Controllers don’t read every flight. They scan for what is late, at risk or about to break, so alerts and status have to lead the hierarchy.

2

Space is part of the data

Questions like “which position is free?” or “where is the aircraft now?” are answered faster by looking at the airport than by reading a table.

3

One shipment, many owners

An air waybill passes through booking, warehouse, flight, customs and truck. Each team needs its step, but also the whole journey.

04 — Process

How we got there

01

Discover

Mapped the air cargo chain and the routines of controllers, warehouse teams and dispatchers.

02

Define

Organised the product into operation, tracking, cargo & storage and network & risk modules.

03

Design

Dark, data-dense interface with shared status tokens, live charts and a navigable 3D digital twin.

04

Deliver

A component library and real-time states documented for engineering, module by module.

05 — Solution

Monitor the network, zoom into the airport, follow every shipment.

The network overview surfaces flights, hub status, alerts and departures at a glance. From any hub, operators open a 3D digital twin of the airport with live aircraft positions, cinematic and tower cameras, movements and weather on the runway.

Warehouses show occupancy, temperature and docks in real time; air waybills follow an eight-step journey from booking to delivery; and ground transport connects the airport to distribution centres on a live map.

07 — Learnings

What I’d take to the next project

  1. Design for the exception

In operations software, the most important screen state is the one where something goes wrong.

  2. Spatial context speeds decisions

A 3D view isn’t decoration when the question is about place: it replaces several tables with one glance.

  3. Shared status language

One set of colours and labels for every status kept a dense, multi-module product readable.
